MMC Handling Marketing/PR for SEAL-NSW Family Foundation May 3 LA Event @ Jonathan Beach Club
LOS ANGELES — April 29, 2014 – The SEAL-Naval Special Warfare Family Foundation will present “An Evening to Support NSW Warriors and Their Families,” a spectacular fundraising event on May 3 at the Jonathan Beach Club, 850 Palisades Beach Club Road in Santa Monica. The event will be A Night to Remember, Even by Hollywood Standards — bringing together an exciting array of glamorous guests, sensational food and entertainment, and an up close experience to the latest military high tech equipment. The SEAL – NSW Family Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that raises awareness and funds for special programs in direct support of the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) families on a local, national and global scale.
The event, which will support the Naval Special Warfare community and their families, will begin a spectacular skydiving show featuring former Navy SEALs parachuting into the Jonathan Beach Club with the American Flag, then guests will be transported to a mock Military Forward Operating Base in a far off land to view interactive displays, kinetic demonstrations and unprecedented access to an exciting array of state-of-the-art equipment including drones, weapon systems of all types, infrared and night vision and tactical gear, lasers, and advance communication and translation equipment. The event will also feature Hollywood entertainment, fine food and wine, exciting silent and live auctions featuring once-in-a-lifetime items and experiences, and the keynote address by retired General James N. Mattis, former commander of US Central Command.
The Event will also feature presentations from Vice Admiral Robert S. Harward, a Navy SEAL and former Deputy Commander of the U.S. Central Command, and former President of Mexico Vicente Fox. Special guests will include Michael Thornton, retired Navy SEAL and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, and Johnny Walker, who guided and interpreted for Navy SEALs on various missions in Iraq and will be on-hand to sign his new book “Code Name: Johnny Walker.”
The evening schedule will include:
• Arrival and VIP Reception (4:30 to 5:00 p.m.) with fine wines, specially prepared foods and guests will get to handle some of the coolest “toys” on the planet.
• Skydiving and Entertainment (6:00 to 7:30 p.m.) The event kicks off with musical medley by Los Angeles’ own AKNU, which wowed viewers of the X Factor, followed by Recording Artist Vaja’s performace of The National Anthem. Guests will then look to the sky above Santa Monica Beach at 7:00 p.m. as 13 former Navy SEALs skydive in tandem with several event sponsors from Michael A. Liberty, Mozido, Inc. and Jonathan Club, as well as descend in high speed wing suits with smoke and special effects to deliver one of the largeset American Flags to the Jonathan Beach Club. The event features a Kentucky Derby Day Bar and a reception stage featuring live musical performances. Guests will mingle amongst an array of cutting edge military equipment— meet and thank some of our nation’s warriors, and bid on exclusive items in a Silent Auction.
• Keynote Address and Program (7:30 to 8:30 p.m.) Guests will be treated to an informative and entertaining program, which will include Medal of Honor winners, military spouses, and presentations from Gen. Mattis, Vice Admiral Harward, Michael Thornton and Michael A. Liberty. The USC Marching Band will perform a series of patriotic songs choreographed to video of actual SEALs training, including the infamous Hell Week.
