Big John’s Rhythm City Grill Opens at Old California Restaurant Row in San Marcos
SAN MARCOS, CA — November 22, 2010 — Big John’s Rhythm City Grill, featuring Southern Style cuisine with a combination of Carolinas and Louisiana home cooked favorites, is now open at San Marcos’ historic Old California Restaurant Row in San Marcos at 1020 San Marcos Boulevard.
Rhythm City Grill is owned by North Carolina Native John Johnson and Manager George Qualls from the Southern cuisine food capital of Louisiana. Rhythm City Grill features a down home Southern style menu highlighted by Carolina barbeque, Mac and Cheese, Gumbo and Fried Okra favorites as well as its signature Chicken Fried Steak with corn bread and two sides during the restaurant’s daily lunch specials, said John Johnson.
Rhythm City’s appetizer menu features a selection of BBQ, hot, mild, Teriyaki, floured and naked Wings, Chicken Tenders and Fried Okra. There are also Caesar and House salads. The restaurant’s Carolina Po-Boys sandwiches feature a choice of Catfish, Smoked, Hot or Andouile Sausage, Shrimp, Chicken, Pulled Pork and even traditional southern style Hamburgers. There’s Chicken entrees (Smothered, Southern Fried); Pork Chops (Fried, Grilled and Smothered); and a Carolina BBQ featuring Tri-Tip, Beef Platter and Ribs (Baby Back, Spare and Tips) and the Pulled Pork Platter. Rhythm City also features such standard favorites as Grilled Rib-Eye Steak and New York Strip. Specialties include Shrimp Creole, Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya, Beef Stew and New Orleans Rice. There is also an All-You-Can-Eat Catfish Day, and check out their Vegan menu for vegetarians.
The restaurant also features live Jazz or Blues on the Patio each Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
