Last week I worked with Guy Kawasaki and his team to arrange a tour and demonstration of Hyper-Realistic® military style training at Strategic Operations (ST/OPS), a San Diego company that specializes in providing “Hyper-Realistic” training for military organizations, such as the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, and the U.S. Coast Guard, as well as SWAT teams, law enforcement and other governmental agencies.

Nearly 400,000 soldiers, sailors, Marines and Coast Guard have gone through the training since 2001. Military personnel undergo live “hyper-realistic” training at various sites across the U.S., including on ST/OPS 22-acre San Diego campus. ST/OPS, which is affiliated with Stu Segall Productions (over 800 hours of prime time, network quality TV series and 7 feature films, including the new FX show “Terriers”), uses state-of-the-art movie industry style special effects (Hollywood style pyrotechnics — gunfire, explosions etc.), role players, proprietary techniques, training scenarios, facilities, mobile structures (RHUs, or Relocatable Habitat Units, currently styled as Afghan huts), sets, props, equipment and technology to achieve dramatic results in the areas of Stress Inoculation and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) (improving resiliency and treatment). Additionally, ST/OPS employs After Action Review which incorporates state-of-the-art audio-video to monitor and record live training and quickly providing objective review to ensure improved military performance. This makes personnel more prepared for actual life-threatening events, due to the Hyper-Realistic® effects that produce “stress inoculation” in both mind and body.
